Fujipoly Presents New Battery Safety Materials: Preventing Fire and Heat Propagation On Demand
Presented by Christian Miraglia, Applications Engineering Manager, Fujipoly America–Customer Engineering Resource Center (CERC) As demand for electric vehicles and energy storage systems grows, enhanced battery safety has become increasingly critical. Managing heat transfer and limiting fire propagation within battery packs are essential considerations for manufacturers and integrators working to improve system safety and reliability. Materials designed to address these challenges can provide additional protection when incorporated into battery designs.
In this product demonstration, viewers will be introduced to two Fujipoly solutions: G1S20488 Anti-Thermal Propagation Material and G1S20360 Anti-Fire Propagation Material. G1S20488 acts as a barrier to help limit heat transfer between battery cells, reducing the risk of thermal runaway spreading from an overheating cell to neighboring cells. G1S20360 acts as a fire retardant, helping hinder flame initiation and spread within the battery pack.
Designed for engineers, battery manufacturers, and system integrators, this demonstration explores the distinct roles of thermal and fire propagation materials in battery safety. Viewers will gain insight into how these solutions can support the development of safer, more reliable battery systems for electric vehicles and energy storage applications.
