Outdoor LCD Connectors

Featured SpotlightA common engineering concern when using LCD displays in outdoor applications is the reliability of the electrical connection between the LCD and printed circuit board. Environments that experience extremely low temperature variations can negatively impact connector performance.

Fujipoly has developed a specially formulated low temperature Zebra® Carbon connector for such applications. The highly reliable LT 200 interconnect device is engineered for broad-ranging outdoor LCD applications with operating temperatures from -85°F (-65°C) to 260°F (125°C).

The low-resistance connector is constructed of alternating layers of carbon-filled, electrically conductive elastomer with 240 contact pitches per inch and a non-conductive silicone insulating material. The connector provides a current carrying capacity of .050 amps per .035" x .035" pad and exhibits a typical resistance between layers of 1012 ohms.
